A 12-Step Fellowship and recovery program for women and men with eating disorders

A good basic introduction to ABA for newcomers, containing general information about the ABA Fellowship and Program. Includes twenty questions, “Do You Have an Eating Disorder?” to assist the reader in identifying whether they belong in ABA. The back page reads “How Can I Find ABA Locally?” followed by a large blank space that ABA Groups can fill as they see fit (with ABA phone numbers, local meeting directory, etc) before giving the pamphlet to the newcomer.
Highly recommended for inclusion in “Newcomer Packages” and for distribution at all ABA meetings.

#P-02 Anorexics and Bulimics Anonymous for the Compulsive Eater
Specifically designed for newcomers who regard themselves as “compulsive overeaters” or “binge eaters” and are as yet unable to identify how they could belong in a Fellowship of anorexics and bulimics. Introduces the “Loonie Theory” of eating disorders contained in ABA’s textbook and defines the “drug” and “sobriety” from an ABA perspective. It then directly tackles the question of being or feeling overweight, which is often at the forefront of these newcomers’ minds. Includes ten questions to help compulsive eaters identify whether they belong in ABA. Recommended for all ABA meetings to have available for newcomers.

#P-03 Anorexics and Bulimics Anonymous
Meetings, Groups, Home Groups – What Are They?

An important pamphlet intended to address the frequent confusion around these key terms. It clearly and succinctly describes the essential features distinguishing ABA “Meetings” from ABA “Groups” and delineates the importance of the “Home Group” for all ABA members. Strongly recommended reading for all members, this is an important resource to have available wherever ABA gathers. (This pamphlet is condensed from a more extensive document with the same title which is found on this website in the Documents section.)

Please contact the office for total costs including shipping, handling and PayPal fees for ordering the above items. Also please note, delivery times provided are ONLY to the Customs Office. After that point, delivery is based on how long it takes for customs to clear a package and the recipient city to deliver it.

General Service Office Hours

This office is staffed part-time and as such, emails are only checked three times per week. Unless urgent, emails will be responded to within 72 hours. Emails are not checked over the weekend. 

As we no longer have a physical office, please email the office manager if you require any literature. Arrangements will need to be made for pick-up of  any literature orders within Edmonton and area.

To the fellowship,

During this time of COVID-19 things are rapidly changing. We trust that everyone is taking good care and that each meeting is making autonomous decisions regarding how to keep everyone safe. Some live meetings have gone online and others have closed temporarily. If you have a change to your meeting such as a temporary closure, please email the office so that we can update the website.

If you are meeting live, then you may, as a group, decide not to hold hands at the end in prayer but instead to just pray next to each other. Feel free to take the actions that fit for you and your group and remember that we need to keep ourselves healthy and we also need to keep others that might be more vulnerable safe as well.

We have been told that due to closures of institutions that there is an increased demand for the services of Zoom rooms. Due to that, the Zoom system has been quite busy and there have been some connection issues with our virtual meetings. Therefore, we have instituted a back up system to connect for the AGM in case we run into problems. Please see the website for details on that.

Also, know that orders that come into the office may take longer than usual as we face the slowing down of services. We ask for your patience with this.

Remember to use all of our tools to connect with each other while taking precautions. Use your phone and email to stay connected as we all may need increased support in that way during this turbulent time. We can pray and meditate to stay grounded as well.
